Hair Defender

Pumps, Focus & Clean Energy

Hair Defender is a daily dietary supplement formulated with biotin, zinc, selenium, and vitamin D, plus botanicals including saw palmetto and pumpkin seed extract to support healthy hair and scalp nutrition. *.

There’s nothing more satisfying than getting an extreme pump!

Hair Defender is a dietary supplement in capsule form designed around two mainstream wellness drivers: (1)key micronutrients commonly included in hair/beauty-support products (biotin, zinc, selenium, vitamin D, folate, pantothenic acid, copper) and (2)botanicals and antioxidants often used in general “hair support” or “men’s wellness” supplement formulations (saw palmetto, nettle, pygeum, pumpkin seed extract, green tea extract).

  • A 1,125 mg botanical “DHT Blocker Blend” consisted of saw palmetto powder, nettle leaf extract, and pygeum extract.
  • A 725 mg “Hair Nourishing Blend” with pumpkin seed extract and L‑cysteine hydrochloride.
  • Green tea extract (250 mg) for antioxidant support and black pepper extract (BioPerine®, 5 mg) as an absorption enhancer.

INGREDIENT BREAKDOWN

Biotin is a B vitamin involved in metabolism and enzyme function; adequate intake for adults is far lower than many “hair/skin/nails” products, and high-dose biotin supplements are widely marketed despite limited evidence for hair benefits in people without deficiency.
Zinc supports immune function and many enzymatic processes; adult RDAs are 8–11 mg/day, while the adult tolerable upper limit is 40 mg/day, so this serving is above the RDA but below the UL.
This plays antioxidant-related roles via selenoproteins; the adult RDA is 55 mcg/day and the adult UL is 400 mcg/day, so 100 mcg remains under the UL but contributes meaningfully to total daily intake.
This vitamin supports calcium homeostasis and bone health and has broader physiological roles; the adult upper limit is 100 mcg/day (4,000 IU/day), so 50 mcg is below the UL but can become excessive if combined with other high-dose vitamin D products.
Important for nucleotide synthesis and red blood cell formation; the UL for folic acid from supplements/fortified foods is 1,000 mcg/day for adults, making 400 mcg DFE generally within conventional supplement ranges.
Used to form coenzyme A; deficiency is rare and supplements commonly range from about 10 mg in multis to much higher levels in some products.
An essential trace mineral; the adult RDA is ~900 mcg/day and the adult UL is 10 mg/day, so 1 mg is near the RDA and far below the UL.
Most commonly studied for urinary symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and NCCIH reports it is generally well tolerated with mostly mild side effects in studies (digestive symptoms, dizziness, headache).
Nettle Leaf Extract (Urtica dioica) has been used in different forms (leaf vs root) for different purposes. NCCIH notes limited evidence for nettle (often root preparations) in the context of BPH symptom support.
Pygeum Extract (Pygeum africanum) has clinical research history for urinary symptoms; a systematic review reports dosing in trials commonly ranging 75–200 mg/day (with several trials using 100 mg/day).
This extract appears in many wellness supplements; the most frequently cited human hair study is a randomized controlled trial using pumpkin seed oil at 400 mg/day for 24 weeks in men, reporting improved hair count versus placebo.
This provides a sulfur-containing amino acid relevant to keratin structure (hair is keratin-rich). Mechanistic/in‑vitro research suggests cysteine availability can influence keratinocyte keratin expression, which is part of why it appears in hair-focused supplement formulations.
Green tea extract is present as an “antioxidant protection” ingredient. NCCIH notes that although uncommon, liver injury has been reported primarily with green tea extracts in tablet/capsule form.
Black pepper extract (BioPerine®) is often used as a “bioavailability enhancer.” A clinical study evaluating 5 mg piperine with coenzyme Q10 reported increased plasma levels compared to control conditions, illustrating why 5 mg is a common “enhancer” dose in supplement design.
