“THE SECRET TO GETTING BIG? EVERYBODY’S LOOKING FOR THE SECRET. WELL, THE TRUTH IS THERE ISN’T MUCH OF A SECRET. THE SECRET IS HARD WORK.”
I know everyone is looking for “the secret”. The secret supplement, the secret routine, the secret whatever. No, it’s not steroids, sorry. The bottom line is, like I said, the only secret is hard work. Look, hard work pays off. You’ve heard me say that time and time again. The more you put into your training, your nutrition, your supplement program, and your sleep quality, the more you're going to get out of it.
The more you eat quality whole food, the more you sleep, the more you train, the more you take All Day You May, or Egg White Crystals, or Kill It, the more you're going to get out of it. And it does not matter if you’re natural, or not natural. Let me say it again. The more you put into it, the more you're going to get out of it. Do you eat 5 meals a day and maybe work out an hour or an hour and a half a day? Maybe you bought one of the 5% stacks. Maybe you sleep 6 hours a night. Sorry, but in my opinion, you're doing nothing. You just aren’t working hard enough.
People come up to me all the time at the expos. That’s what they tell me they're doing. That’s the kind of schedule they follow. And there’s no question they sound motivated. My suggestion to them is simple. You need the mentality that you can never do too much. Remember, there is always someone out there doing more than you. My suggestion would be -- bump up your meals to 6 or even 7 meals a day. You’re training an hour a day? Bump that up another 30 minutes. You say you’re using Kill It and Real Carbs? Add in All Day You May, Crea-TEN and Full As F*ck. Sleep another half hour to an hour.
“EVERY WEEK, DO A LITTLE MORE. SLOW BUT SURE, YOU WILL GET USED TO IT, YOUR BODY WILL ADJUST, AND YOU WILL GET RESULTS.”
People will ask -- Rich, won't I get fat if I just keep eating more? Well, first, you should be eating good, clean, real food. No junk food. Second, you’re going to have to do your cardio. If you feel like you are putting on excess fat, then you have to do cardio. What you don’t do, what you never do, is cut back on your meals. Cutting back on your meals is going backwards. Instead, add in cardio. So, you get to a point where you're eating all these meals every day. You are working out 2 and a half hours a day. Your supplement program is matched to your goals. You’re not just using a stack; You sat down and chose the 5% products that you think will help you the most. You're sleeping 8 to 10 hours a night, every night. Maybe you’re taking Knocked The F*ck Out to get that consistent sleep. All of this would be the perfect scenario.
Here’s a good example. Someone comes to me and says "Hey, Rich, I can train hard, I can do everything, but I have a problem eating. I don’t get hungry that often. I don’t have the appetite." What do you mean, you don’t have the appetite? Well, they say, I just don't have the appetite. That makes no sense. It doesn't matter if you're not hungry, you still eat. You sit down and you eat. If you take until 4am, you do it.
“THAT’S WHAT I USED TO DO WHEN I WAS IN THE COMPETITIVE BODYBUILDING WORLD. NOW, I’M DOING OTHER THINGS, BUT I HAVE THE SAME MENTALITY. THIS IS HOW I APPLY MYSELF TO EVERYTHING I DO.”
