I was a Police Officer for Kansas City for twelve years. During those years, I just went through life day by day. On August 6 2011, I was involved in a point blank shooting. That day changed the way I thought in many ways. Life became more precious. It's not about living day to day; it's about the time we are given. Time isn't always promised so you need to use it taking care of yourself, family, friends, and even strangers.
I decided to start living a healthier lifestyle. I always worked out but never ate right. I started researching nutrition. My thoughts were if I had the knowledge to be healthier I could pass that on to others.
I decided to take my knowledge in training to another level and started competing in 2012 as a men's physique competitor. I did pretty well winning some shows and a few overalls. I went on to nationals to try and earn an IFBB PRO CARD. I competed a few years at the national level.
I continued working hard to improve my physique as I prepared for Nationals in 2017. Master Nationals approached and I was fortunate enough to have finally earned my IFBB Pro card. Moral of the story is this: believe in yourself and never give up.
I never did and never will.
