Can you mix creatine and protein? It seems like lifters mix all sorts of powders in their quest for the ideal physique. Protein and coffee might come to mind as a great example. But what about creatine? Is it OK to mix it with protein, or should you drink them separately?
The Convenience Of Protein Powder
Most lifters use protein powder to help them meet their daily protein requirements. Enjoying 1-2 delicious Shake Time shakes per day is a convenient and easy way to add extra protein to your diet. These shakes are also great if you’re at work or school and don’t have time for a meal. Another advantage is that Shake Time uses only real food protein sources. Plus, we have some stunning new flavors - Birthday Cake and Cookies & Cream!
Creatine
Many lifters using creatine will be using Core Creatine Monohydrate. Our classic Crea-TEN formula is different. Instead of just creatine monohydrate, it contains multiple sources of creatine. Also, it has quite a few extra ingredients that support the effectiveness of the different types of creatine. Plus, it comes flavored as opposed to unflavored for Core Creatine. Additionally, our new Code Red Creatine is also flavored and uses 3 sources of creatine.
Can You Mix Them?
It’s common for lifters to stack multiple products, as well as mix several powders together. By all means, mix creatine with Shake Time, but in terms of taste you’d probably want to use unflavored Core Creatine. One good reason to mix them is convenience. If you're taking one serving of creatine per day, mixing it in with your morning protein shake makes sense. This is especially true on your off days. On training days, mix it in with your 5% pre-workout. What's that? Your Pre already has creatine? Then that's your dose for the day.
What Else Can You Mix Creatine With?
As noted, many lifters either use a 5% Nutrition pre-workout that already contains creatine, or they mix in the 5% creatine of their choice. A lot of lifters also mix their favorite 5% creatine with All Day You May. As another example, some lifters will add Core L-Glutamine 5000, another unflavored powder, to the mix. This combo creates a very impressive intra-workout!
What About Taste?
So we see that you can mix 5% creatine with virtually any other 5% powder. One consideration, however, is flavor compatibility. If the combination meets your goals, may lifters just chug down whatever they’ve mixed together. Yet it doesn’t have to be an unenjoyable experience. Choose compatible flavors and you can have quite a tasty drink! For example, Crea-TEN and All Day You May share many of the same flavors. Another flavor sensation might be 5150, pink lemonade flavor, with blueberry lemonade Crea-TEN.
Recap
Mixing creatine and protein is just one of many supplement tricks you can use to optimize your results. Of course, dedicated lifters want all the advantages they can get. If you haven't tried it, grab some Core Creatine and Shake Time and give it a shot!
